| SCABA 2010 Rule Changes |
|
At the SCABA Executive Board annual meeting on November 22, 2009
approved the following rule changes for the 2010 season: 1) AABC National Registration Dues will now be calculated on a sliding scale depending on the previous year's Association's registration numbers. SCABA had enough 2009 registrations to qualify for $30 National Dues per team (which is now the minimum charge, up from $25). 2) SCABA Registration Dues will be $15 per team. 3) There will be no Player Contracts issued. However, EVERY PLAYER MUST sign a Liability Waiver & Medical Release Form before participating in any practice or game. 4) Rosters will be unlimited for regular season league games. A final tournament roster will be due no later than two days prior to the State Tournament for those teams that qualify. Players on the final Tournament Roster must still be qualified per all National Rules for post-season competition, and Team Managers will still need to submit an Official Roster signed by eligible players, Player Waiver Forms signed by parent or player (if 18 yrs old), proof of players' division age eligibility, and proof of team insurance to certify for Tournament competition. 5) There will be no Contracts - nothing binding player to team, so players are "mobile" within our whole State Association, from Los Angeles to San Diego. This means they can play on more than one team, in more than one league, if they want to. Mickey Mantle players will be allowed to play on both Mickey Mantle and Connie Mack teams. 6) There is no waiting period or deadline for recruiting players - Team Managers can begin recruiting at any time since there is no contract to sign. |
